The Test Manager will carry direct management responsibility for the test team across two Programmes (EPR & Clinical Programme).The Test Manager will be responsible for the entirety of testing activities across the two Programmes (EPR & Clinical Programme); sharing knowledge and maintaining engagement with colleagues towards achievement within the key results areas.

Main duties of the job
The Test Manager will provide a service which ensures software solutions are fit for purpose at the point of delivery.They will manage all testing activities across two Programmes (EPR & Clinical Programme)including documentation and escalation of test results, incidents and issues which arise during pre-implementation and 'go-live' periods across the two Programmes (EPR & Clinical Programme).The Test Manager will have direct management responsibility for the test team across the two Programmes (EPR & Clinical Programme), including identification of training and development needs.The EPR Test Manager will be responsible for the entirety of testing activities across the two Programmes (EPR & Clinical Programme); sharing knowledge and maintaining engagement with colleagues towards achievement within the key results areas.
They will be responsible for producing Test Strategies which meets the requirements of the 2 programme and will define a detailed test plan for the programme which will encapsulate all elements of testing including user acceptance. Subsequently they will develop the ongoing test plan strategy including for new versions and upgrades.

KEY RESULT AREAS
The Test Manager will:
Produce a robust testing delivery plan and resource schedule which covers all workstreams and the across the two Programmes (EPR & Clinical Programme).
Build a Test team, which will deliver the contents of the detailed test plans; to include ensuring recruitment, induction, and training to meet the requirements across the two Programmes (EPR & Clinical Programme).
Build knowledge and testing skills within the wider EPR to ensure there is adequate knowledge of the testing functional and to ensure that the team are clear on their roles and responsibilities in relation to testing.
Manage the team to meet the requirements of the test plan; reporting weekly progress against the plan; taking action to manage deviations and exceptions.
Lead, support and manage the Testing staff by providing day to day supervision and guidance to ensure the effective management of the testing function within EPR and identifying training and development opportunities in line with Trust policies and procedures.
Be responsible for managing appraisals, sickness absence, and any performance or conduct issues.
Will be expected to recommend rejection of software solutions or new versions/upgrades of software if the testing process highlights unresolved faults that will have an impact on the business-as-usual operations.
Will be expected to directly liaise with suppliers of IM&T solutions to ensure that faults are identified and resolved.
Will be expected to manage escalations to the EPR Programme team if end user resources are not being committed to the testing process.
To be responsible for the tracking and regular reporting against quality and testing issues from identification to resolution.
Support the extraction of information from multiple IM&T information sources.
Analyse and compare data stored in various clinical software business systems to validate accuracy of data migration or interfacing.
Analyse and respond to complex data queries from internal and external customers dealing with patient data, defects data and workflow issues.
Analyse and explain business and technical requirements, in collaboration with system suppliers and system users, to ensure systems testing outputs meet agreed acceptance criteria.
Analyse the clinical or business context that the system or solution will be expected to support in order to produce a suitable test process.
Assist with establishing and maintaining the required testing environment (software and hardware) test applications, test data, test PCs, printers and scanners.
Responsible for using information management software resources and appropriate IM&T systems to manage and record testing processes.
Responsible for accurately logging and managing of all issues in the local Issues Management Tool and ensuring all supporting information and evidence are well documented.
Responsible for supporting the testing of new projects and relevant changes to existing systems to ensure that all aspects of testing are covered.
Maintain up to date knowledge of new systems and upgrades by attending the appropriate familiarisation/training sessions.
