Main duties of the job
This exciting and innovative role will provide strong and visible professional nursing leadership, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and professionally accountable to the Deputy CEO / Joint Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals RCHT / CFT. The role has a strong focus on the strategic delivery of high standards of care, patient safety and involves working in partnership with other organisations across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Your strategic thinking will be key in taking forward Urgent and Emergency services in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly while developing a long term strategic vision that enables high quality and sustainable services contributing to the provision of high quality care and improved patient outcomes.
This high-profile senior post will appeal to someone who is keen to play an influential role in shaping the future delivery of Urgent, Emergency and Eldercare Services and further enhance innovation and leadership in all areas.
About us
You will be a key member of the senior leadership team within the Care Group of UEE, working closely with the Clinical Director and General Manager in a triumvirate structure. You will provide strong, visible leadership to a dedicated team of Clinical Matrons, therapists, nurses and support staff, working collaboratively with the Consultant teams and Service Managers to implement changes in practice in line with National guidance.
You will be a key member of the Corporate Senior Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional Team, with responsibility for influencing and delivering a number of Trust wide professional programmes e.g. Safe Staffing and Rostering, Medication Safety and contributing and delivering the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals Strategy.
You will take on a lead clinical responsibility for both the strategic planning and operational management of the services.
You will have excellent communication skills complimenting a visible, dynamic and inspirational leadership style thereby enabling the nursing and allied health professional workforce to deliver safe, high quality standards of care with the patient voice front and centre.
You will lead for the Care Group for Quality Governance systems and processes, and ensure improvements in safety, effectiveness and staff / patient experience.
