Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced specialist paediatric dietitian to work in an expanding community-based service to support children and young people with a learning or physical disability in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

We are looking for a highly motivated dietitian who would like to work alongside multi-professional and multiagency colleagues to co-manage and deliver a clinical dietetic service to children with a Neurodisability.

The post holder will also co-lead the work within the team on the roll out of a new, innovative education and training Steps to Eating programme for professionals, carers and parents working with selective eaters.

Main duties of the job

To be a highly competent, knowledgeable, and visible practitioner setting the highest standards of care and ensuring the provision of appropriate, evidence-based care for children and young people with a Neurodisability or neurodevelopmental disorder.

This post will involve autonomous and MDT working with children and young people and their families, groups, schools, communities and with carers across the age range from birth to 19 years old. The therapy and training will be delivered both virtually and face to face within the local community.

Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or equivalent leading to Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a dietitian

Evidence of formal study leading to post graduate qualifications eg; a teaching qualification or extensive experience of teaching groups.

Post registration dietetic experience including significant experience of delivering complex nutrition support services

Ability to use time management, communication and/or team working skills effectively

Evidence of an accurate and up to date portfolio in order to demonstrate Continued Professional Development(CPD) and lifelong learning.

Evidence of active participation in Clinical Governance issues preferably in relation to dietetic practice

Demonstrate the use of Evidence based practice in delivering a quality service

Competently demonstrate experience of Best dietetic practice in a wide range of clinical conditions
