Job summary

Recruitment and Retention Premia now available!

Are you an Echocardiographer seeking an opportunity to join a team that values teamwork and working together in order to achieve the best for our patients? If so, we are looking for you!

A fantastic work-life balance awaits you in sunny Cornwall when you join our Cardiac Department.

Cardiology services at The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust are consistently rated 5* by patients because of our delivery of excellent standards of care, and we are inviting you to join our team and contribute to offering the same exceptional service to our community.

The Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, is the main provider of acute healthcare to the majority of Cornwall's residents and many seasonal visitors. The Cardiology service offers a comprehensive range of investigations and treatments appropriate to a 'non-surgical' centre.

We currently provide both transthoracic and transoesphageal echocardiography to meet the acute inpatient demand; and work in collaboration with community echo teams to provide outpatient services for residents of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. With the addition of new team members we will be striving to develop Physiologist Led echo services such as valve surveillance clinics, and implement a Stress Echo service.

Please contact us for an informal chat, or to arrange to come and meet the team and see the department so we can talk about how you would like to develop your career with us.

Main duties of the job

Applicants to the posts should have BSc Clinical Physiology (cardiology) or equivalent and BSE accreditation or equivalent; they should demonstrate competency in a range of non-invasive procedures. This post is suitable for experienced echocardiographers who are able to demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning. To all applicants we offer the most supportive environment for both personal and professional development to allow you to further develop your career. This is evidenced in the fact that the department has previously been awarded the Work Placed Educator Award for Excellence and Best Work Placed Educator Award from Plymouth University.
