Job summary
These posts are to supplement the current 4 staff already in post. The role is an important part of the delivery of Pre-Assessment for patients waiting for elective surgery. The Elective Surgery Recovery Programme demands that allocation and booking of appointments are of high importance to enable timely Pre-Assessment to take place within the patients surgical pathway. The post holders will be supported to develop the skills required to book the range of clinics that this department provides. An awareness of surgical pathways would be helpful for post-holders along with familiarity with PAS/BEA and MAXIMS. Once competent there is the opportunity to work from home on some days and in the department on others.
Main duties of the job
To receive electronic referrals to the department for a range of clinics.
To prioritise and book HealthCare Assistant, Nurse and Anaesthetist clinics.
To maintain close and effective communication with the inpatient booking teams and the wider Pre-Assessment team and Anaesthetic, Critical Care and Theatres Care Group.
To troubleshoot and manage queries from patients about their appointments.
