Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and dedicated colonoscopist to join our forward thinking and proactive Endoscopy Unit here at the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust. We have a total of 6 JAG accredited endoscopy endoscopy rooms across 2 sites. You will join a hard working and dedicated team team of 8 Clinical Endoscopists, Physician's Associates, GP's, and doctors, committed to providing a first rate service throughout Cornwall.

Main duties of the job

The principle role of the post holder is to autonomously perform lower gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy in sedated and non-sedated patients.

The post holder will have trust wide responsibility to provide clear leadership which encases a fully holistic patient view. Utilising specialist knowledge in conjunction with the clinical care of patients is pivotal to their diagnosis and treatment, and enables a continuous and positive patient journey. This will ultimately empower the ongoing development and sustainability of a high quality, innovative, and streamlined service.

  • Registered first level nurse or allied health professional
  • Master's level study or equivalent level of specialist experience
  • JAG accreditation in colonoscopy
  • Evidence of teaching, assessment and supervision skills
  • Sedation training certificate or willingness to complete
  • Immediate Life Support training or willingness to complete

Desirable

  • JAG accredited train the trainer Qualification
  • Independent Prescribing Certificate
  • IR(ME)R qualified
  • Advanced communication skills training
