An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with a well-respected outpatient physiotherapy team inRCH. The team covers 3 bases includingTreliske, West Cornwall and St Michaels Hospital. We have a mix of staff both administrative and clinical ranging from Band 2 to 7.

This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician who either already has PFD experience or is keen and willing to upskill and develop in this area. Full and part time applications will be considered. A mixed role including a MSK and PFD caseload can also be considered.

The service provides specialised MSK and PFD out-patient physiotherapy to the local community accepting referrals from GPs, Consultants and Allied Health Professionals. We have a strong commitment to professional development with a well-structured supervision and in-service training framework. The service actively supports CPD and can provide funding for appropriate courses to support further career progression. With the emergence of FCP roles and the APP framework we aim to offer a development pathway for our existing and aspiring FCPs and APPs.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated colleague to join our team. The main base is negotiable with the successful candidate..

Main duties of the job

To provide a high standard physiotherapy service to the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy service, including within the sub-specialism of Physiotherapy for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction.

Performs an advanced musculoskeletal assessment of patients including those with highly complex presentations and from this formulates a diagnosis and treatment plan and carries out this plan as an autonomous practitioner.

Supervises, teaches and appraises recently qualified physiotherapists, physiotherapy students, support workers and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

Undertakes evidence based projects including recommendations for change in practice and may participate in departmental audit.

Deputises for the physiotherapy team leaders in operational management.

Will have acquired specialist knowledge in specific area i.e. musculoskeletal outpatients and physiotherapy for pelvic floor dysfunction.

Ensure effective and safe operation of patient group work

To participate in the inpatient weekend and Bank Holiday rota

Assist in planning workload of juniors, students and support workers
