Job summary
We are actively seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 7 Midwife Sonographer to join our forward-thinking team of friendly and supportive professionals in providing a range of obstetric ultrasound examinations. The successful candidate will be an autonomous practitioner, promoting best practice and high standards within the Maternity Ultrasound Department. Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a registered health care professional with a Post Graduate qualification in Obstetric Ultrasound from an accredited University or equivalent, or a UK recognised qualification.
Will be required to work independently to perform obstetric ultrasound examinations and provide diagnostic reports of patients accessing the obstetric ultrasound department and demonstrating competency in the use of ultrasound equipment.
Will be able to acquire precise measurements of fetal size at every gestation and interpret this information and be competent to undertake the full range of obstetric scans; dating, first trimester screening, anomaly, assessment of fetal well-being, measurement of growth and Doppler studies, including high risk pregnancies, multiple pregnancies.
Make decisions to modify diagnostic ultrasound examinations as appropriate, such as selecting a trans vaginal scan or make decisions to perform Doppler studies.
Participate in the training and education of nursing/midwifery students working.
