Job summary
West Cornwall Surgical Unit care for patients on their day of admission, pre, peri and post operatively. We care for elective Urology, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Oral Surgery, ENT, Upper & Lower GI, Colo Rectal and Hand Orthopaedic patients. We ensure our patients receive high quality care, dignity and respect throughout the Unit and their stay. We are looking for a team player who can lead, motivate and enthuse the team to deliver high quality care in what is a very busy environment. You'll plan, assess, and implement individual care programmes to those who need it most, and maintain a compassionate, caring and safe environment for all.
You will be given the opportunity to expand your role into PACU/Scrub, the Penlee Unit and the Surgical Ward.
As a member of our team you'll use your extensive understanding and knowledge of evidence based practice to enhance the care of our patients. Your ability to plan, evaluate and communicate patient care will be crucial to your work with qualified and unqualified nurses in your team.

Main duties of the job
We work as part of a multi-disciplinary theatre team to deliver elective procedures across a wide range of specialities.
As well as furthering your clinical practice we offer many development and educational opportunities, including our award-winning 'Being Brilliant' programme which develops and nurtures all staff as future leaders.
The post holder will be expected to develop skills and specialty based knowledge to support anaesthetic practice in a multi-specialty environment, which may involve procedures performed on adult patients under general, regionaland local anaesthetic.
