Job summary
Clinical
Clinical work is at the level of a Foundation doctor, depending on experience and your clinical responsibilities salary will be commensurate with this level of experience. Depending upon specialty you will also participate in an out of hour's rota that will be remunerated appropriately in line with the Trust Doctors Contract. Routine work will include:
Assessment and management of in-patients.
Assessment and management of acute admissions.
Attend ward rounds as timetabled.
Attend multi-disciplinary ward meetings.
Attend out-patients (where appropriate) and assist with inpatient management.
Fulfil the duties of the weekly timetable including out of hours responsibilities weekend and nights on a rota pattern.
Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of clinical services.
To share with colleagues responsibility for the day-to-day management of the patients within RCHT.
To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME).
To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and Audit.
To attend meetings as appropriate
Main duties of the job
Provision, with core training colleagues of a service to the Royal Cornwall Hospitals' NHS Trust, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness, and the proper functioning of the department.
Cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorised absences.
Any responsibility that relates to a special interest.
Participating in medical audit, the Trust's Clinical Governance processes and in continuing Professional Development.
