This post offers an exciting opportunity to work within our dynamic and innovative Neonatal Unit. As Neonatal Clinical Support Worker, you will be an integral part of the team providing support to the day to day running of the unit.
We are looking for an enthusiastic clinical support worker to join our Neonatal Unit Team. This role is designed to support nursing, clerical and housekeeping staff on this busy unit. You will need to enjoy variety, be flexible and willing to learn new skills. You must enjoy working with babies and their families and have a positive and proactive approach to your work, which will include working alongside staff providing direct clinical care.
This is a part-time post working 23 hours per week. You will be required to work 11.5 hour shifts, covering weekdays and weekends and 5.75 hour shifts to provide cover during annual leave.
You will have the opportunity to work on your own initiative in a diverse and varied role, liaising with many different departments from across the Trust as well as with patients and carers.

Main duties of the job
To ensure that the environment is clean, safe, tidy and welcoming for patients and visitors.
Ensure availability of equipment as required
Ability to promote and establish good relationships with families.
To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.
Provide assistance and support to all members of the multi-disciplinary team as directed.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of the clinical environment, including parent accommodation and the preparation of the clinical and non-clinical environment in advance of clinical procedures being carried out.
Record routine observations as designated by the nurse in charge (following training and having been assessed as competent, e.g. HR, RR, Sa02, Temp, & BP) under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Adhering to Trust infection control, decontamination and cleanliness policies.
Adhering to COSHH regulations.
Promoting the safety and wellbeing of infants and families and visitors.
Engage and interact effectively with families, encouraging them to be actively involved in planning and delivering care to their infant.
Support parents with their feeding preference in accordance to Baby Friendly standards.
