Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated person to provide efficient administration and clerical support to the Bowel Cancer Screening Service within Cornwall.
It is important that you are enthusiastic, motivated and able to work with competing demands on your time. Previous NHS administrative experience is essential, and ideally you will have knowledge of waiting list management and access targets.
This role has been approved for advertising; however, it is also being assessed as a suitable alternative employment opportunity. As a result, the vacancy may be withdrawn or there may be a delay before shortlisting can begin.
The role is open to all applicants. However, in line with Cornwall First Recruitment principles, initial shortlisting will prioritise applicants from Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and the Integrated Care Board for Cornwall and the Isles of Silly.
Main duties of the job
The Administrative Support Officer is an integral role within the Cornwall Bowel Cancer Screening team. The team are responsible for arranging and undertaking diagnostic tests for patients that have had a positive bowel cancer screening test across Cornwall.
The post holder is required to provide efficient and responsive administrative and clerical support in accordance with national, Trust and departmental guidelines, policies and procedures; directing enquiries and managing the patient pathway from referral to results using specialist software and hospital systems.
