Wellington Ward are excited to be able to offer a post to an Nurse Associate to care for our patients.
Wellington Ward cares for people with acute and chronic Respiratory conditions. We are seeking applications from nurses who have the ability and determination to learn in these specialties to gain new skills and competencies. You will be working on a ward that provides a positive environment to work in, whilst respecting your contribution to work within a specialty that gives you an opportunity to do what you do best, care for patients.
This is a 25 hours per week role. Working long days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
The Nursing Associate has a breadth of knowledge across health and wellbeing and across fields of nursing, providing holistic and person centred care, and support to people of all ages. Nursing Associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to their area of employment and will work to the NMC Code of Conduct.
Work as a member of the multi professional team providing clinical care to patients in clinic settings.
Ensure the highest standard of patient-centred care.
Promote self-management of health needs and adopt a positive risk based care approach.
Carry out all relevant forms of care, without direct supervision, and may be required to demonstrate simple procedures to registered and/or non-registered staff undertaking training where agreed with the nursing team.
You will work independently, as well as be able to work within a team. You will be expected to work with a cohort of patients with acute and/or chronic respiratory conditions. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate your care. Develop skills, to include recording and interpreting vital signs, venepuncture, cannulation, catheterisation, wound care, spirometry, lung functions, Non-Invasive Ventilation, Intercostal Chest Drains, health promotion and much more.
