Kernowflex (Bank) Sterile Services Driver
This is a Zero hours contract
We are currently looking for Sterile Services Drivers to join us to work in our busy Sterile Services Department. The Department provides an important service within the Hospital, Decontaminating and Sterilizing Surgical instruments for the Operating Theatres/Wards, Departments and external customers. The Department is fully accredited to European Standards and works within a Quality System.
This is a varied role requiring many different skills, for which we will provide full training. You must have GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent and willing to become familiar with many different locations within the trust. Previous Sterile Services experience is helpful although not essential but you must be able to communicate well, work within a team and take instructions.
Applicants will also be given training to cover varied methods of sterilization of surgical instruments and theatre sets.
7.5 hour shifts, with a half hour meal break, consisting of varied early shifts, late shifts and weekend working shifts and rostered on-call service.
Main duties of the job
To collect contaminated theatre sets in accordance with trusts/departmental procedures.
To deliver sterilised theatre sets in accordance with trusts/departmental procedures.
To work under supervision of the supervisor/process owner.
To communicate effectively with work colleagues.
To work flexibly as part of a team.
To practice in accordance with the Trusts standards and statutory requirements.
Contribute to the effective use of Trust resources.
To contribute towards the development of best practice within the service to help and achieve high quality patient care.
To provide and maintain a professional, efficient, effective and timely service with the collection and delivery of theatre sets to operating theatres throughout Cornwall.
