We require enthusiastic, motivated and innovative individuals to work with us in the Emergency Department in the stunning county of Cornwall.
This exciting 6 month post offer an 80:20 split of clinical : fellow time with an opportunity to increase your experience in Emergency Medicine, as well as allowing personal development. These opportunities are the ideal step up to an Emergency Medicine Specialty Doctor position or a Core or Higher training application.
Your eight hours of non-clinical time each week would enable you to attend our dedicated weekly EM training programme incorporating in-situ simulation training, USS masterclasses and up-to-date guideline presentations in addition to developing your own skills and interests within the field of Emergency Medicine. Our previous fellows have had interests in Major Trauma, Simulation, Education, Quality Improvement, Mental health, Ultrasound and PHEM.
In addition to this prioritisation of your individual development we are able to offer funding for the completion of ATLS, ALS and APLS (or equivalent/appropriate courses) during your 12 month post.
Applicants are required to be GMC registered AND HAVE PREVIOUS NHS EXPERIENCE.

Main duties of the job
To work as part of the ED team seeing the wide variety of patients thatpresento Fulfil duties of weekly timetable following a full shift pattern as per theED Junior Doctor rota.o 80 : 20 Clinical : fellow duties.o Attend and contribute to weekly Emergency Medicine Departmentalteaching including in-situ simulation training and case/guidelinepresentations.o Partake in a non-clinical Emergency Department project during fellowtime - ie: Major Trauma, Global Health, Ultrasound.o Follow departmental protocols and guidance and seek senior advicewhenever necessary.o Teach and train junior staff, medical students and Nurse Practitionersas appropriate.o To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuingmedical education (CME).o To actively participate in both departmental and Trust mattersconcerning Clinical Governance and audit.
