We have opportunities in the following teams:

Band 7 (37.5 hrs) Advanced Respiratory Physiotherapist Team Lead

We are looking for an experienced Advanced Respiratory Physiotherapist to join our Respiratory & Critical Care Physiotherapy Team, working alongside the current clinical lead physiotherapists.

We have a 19-bedded critical care unit at RCHT with a mixed caseload of level 3 and level 2 patients. We also have two acute respiratory wards, including a higher-care bay and an acute NIV service.

The role will include respiratory education both within the team and across the physiotherapy department for on call physios.

3 x Band 6 posts(37.5 hrs per week) Specialist Physiotherapy rotational posts.

We have two permanent vacancies on the Band 6 Physiotherapy rotation plus one fixed term contract until September 2026. The rotation covers Respiratory, AMU, Acute Frailty, Acute Stroke, Trauma and Orthopaedics and Outpatients (Hydrotherapy, Rheumatology and MSK).

Main duties of the job

To provide a high standard Physiotherapy service.To maintain an agreed case load within in the clinical specialism, performing advanced assessment of patients including those with highly complex presentations. To formulate diagnoses and treatment plans, as an autonomous practitioner.To undertake line manager duties for the team.To be instrumental in the on-going development of services and practices that provide high quality care and interventions.

Job overview Band 6

To provide a high standard Physiotherapy service to patients at Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust.

To provide specialist assessment, treatment, and goal setting of patients on the wards or in an out-patient setting.

Job Overview Band 4

To assist in the development of Therapy Services by supporting Therapists in the assessment and treatment of patients and the day-to-day running of the therapy environment.

To accept patients referred by a Physiotherapist and carry as own patient caseload. Treat patients according to set treatment protocols, monitoring patient progression, make alterations (within protocols and scope of practice) to patient treatment programmes as required.

Work unsupervised regularly, reporting back patient progress and informing therapists of any problems.
