Are you a passionate and experienced audiologist looking to make a significant impact in the field of audiology? Royal Cornwall Hospital is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Chief Audiologist to lead our exceptional team and provide top-notch care to our community.

Main duties of the job

To effectively deputise for the Clinical Lead in her absence.

To support the Clinical Lead clinically and professionally for all audiology services provided by the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, to include Paediatric Audiology, Adult Rehabilitation, Diagnostic Audiovestibular, NHSP and Hearing Therapy.

To be the Clinical Governance Lead for the service, liaising and supporting the Service Manager and Clinical Lead on complaints, patient feedback, Risks, Incidents and incorporating into service learning and quality improvements.

To support the Clinical Lead with the progression of the service towards accreditation with IQIPS.

The post holder will maintain their own complex clinical workload (including being the Lead on the Vestibular service) whilst undertaking clinical supervision and training. The post holder will have highly developed and specialist knowledge over a range of procedures and practices, underpinned by theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

  • Clinical Scientist (Audiology) registered with HCPC or Clinical Physiologist (Audiology) registered with AHCS
  • MSc in Audiology or equivalent experience
  • Further training and portfolio of evidence in support of continuous professional development in Audiology
  • Leadership training or equivalent experience in training/supervising

Desirable

  • Possession of education/teaching certification
  • Leadership, coaching or mentor training

  • Substantial experience of working at a senior level within Audiology
  • Experience of staff management/training at Supervisor level
  • Experience of working with Adults (including Vestibular assessment) and paediatrics
