Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and efficient individual to join the Acute & Emergency Medicine administration team and support the delivery of medical staffing services across the Care Group. This is full time position which requires proven experience of working in a high pressure area.
Applicants should have the ability to think calmly and logically under pressure and have a positive attitude to maintaining high standards with attention to detail at all times. You will be quick to learn, be able to work as part of a team and also possess the ability to work unsupervised using your own initiative.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of the Care Group Medical Staffing team, you will help support the delivery of rotas and staffing to an agreed level and provide support to the Specialty and Care Group Management teams.
You will oversee and produce to produce accurate timetables for senior and junior medical staff working within the Care Group. You will oversee accurate recording of planned and unplanned absences, such as leave or sickness and carry out various duties relating to rota management. You will be required to communicate with a wide range of disciplines and possess an aptitude for negotiation and persuasion.
Your role will include reviewing all current rotas and processes around rota coordination and identify how these can be streamlined and improved.
The ideal candidate will also possess previous rota coordination experience, a good general knowledge of NHS, medical staffing rota issues, including National initiatives and European Working Time Directive. Knowledge of Allocate, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, is essential. Experience of working in the NHS is desirable.
This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week.
