Job summary
We are currently looking for someone to join our amazing team to help lead and run the Fracture Liaison service. This is a new service for our patients in Cornwall which is still expanding and needs more expert help to develop further. We are a small dedicated team which work across both the fracture liaison service and the Bone density service giving a more cohesive service for our patients and other colleague's.
Main duties of the job
Provide autonomous clinical reports on all DEXA scans as per defined scope of practice.
Provide a verbal report to the Patient at the time of image acquisition when appropriate.
To support the delivery of all DEXA examinations and procedures within DEXA and the Fracture Liaison Service
To maintain a high level of clinical and technical expertise in DEXA and Bone Health to ensure the FLS standards maintained.
To deliver training to other DEXA practitioners and Bone health speciality advisors
Act as an advisor, expert and learning resource within the specialty.

- DCR( R) or BSc Hons (Radiography) in Diagnostic Imaging or equivalent Current state registration through HCPC or equivalent.
- 2 years post graduate experience
- Excellent communicator
- Ability to maintain high levels of concentration for prolonged periods
- Commitment to attend in-house training and CPD learning.
Desirable
- Leadership courses
- Completed non-medical prescribing course, recognised by NMC, post graduate level training.
- Consultant led training in osteoporosis. Shadowing medical doctors in osteoporosis clinics. Clinic consultations
- Attendance at national conferences or courses specialising in osteoporosis, fracture liaison, and metabolic bone disease.
- IR(ME)R trained
- ROS qualification in DEXA Image acquisition.
- Post Graduate qualification in DEXA reporting.
Experience

- Evidence of relevant experience in Bone Health, Disorders, FLS and Bone densitometry.
- Knowledge of national Osteoporosis guidelines
- Knowledge of the use of osteoporosis medications
