Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a key team within the Department of Clinical Technology (DCT) that is supporting the implementation of the new Electronic Patient Record system (EPR), known as "eCare." This challenging programme is the largest clinical system transformation programme the Trust has undertaken and is key to the Trust's Strategy and aims to fundamentally transform ways of working.
The post holder will report to the IM&T System Specialist and will be working closely with the Specialist Medical Equipment Technician EPR to provide additional capacity within the EPR programme, overseeing various workstreams supporting the successful implementation of the chosen system within the programmes' timeframe and budget. The role holder will also be responsible for establishing and embedding cultural change across the organisation, working closely with transformation leads.
Located within the Department of Clinical Technology (DCT).
Provides evaluation, acceptance, service, repair, and calibration of a range of complex medical devices and systems maintained by the Department of Clinical Technology.
The post holder will be required to work unsupervised under their own initiative at hospitals & health centres located throughout Cornwall.
Working in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, local quality management system, COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and local management work instructions.
Main duties of the job
To utilise core and specialist skills to provide day-to-day technical/clinical support for the organisation and other Health Care providers within the equipment management service.
To organise the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM), service and repair of the specialist area, and meet medical device maintenance turnaround times.
Ensure complex clinical equipment operates and performs effectively, practically, and safely with minimum downtime to a high standard.
To work as part of a multi-skilled technical support team, providing essential and specialised skills.
The post may involve direct and indirect contact with patients where tact, diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality are paramount
