Job summary
Reporting to the Outpatient Booking Services Manager, the Service Manager is expected to be the Trust Specialist Lead for NHS Digital's e-Referral Service. Also to manage the Suspected Cancer pathway and delivery of Cancer pathway targets.
This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with the national e-Referral System, including the Directory of Services for all referrals and Advice and Guidance of all GP and internal referrals including suspected cancer.
You will also support the Head of Patient Services and Outpatient Booking Services Manager in providing expert operational and technical support to Trust Senior Management, clinicians and administrative staff on all issues relating to eRS including Directory of Services.
Main duties of the job
Maintain national e-Referrals services and associated management of all GP referrals into the Trust. Management of Suspected Cancer referrals and delivery of Cancer standard, escalating capacity shortfalls to care groups/leads where required
The post holder is expected to be a point of contact through being a visible, accessible and assertive figure to whom both administrative and clinical staff can turn to for assistance, advice and support, ensuring prompt action to resolve the concerns .
To interpret eRS data, identify any possible data quality issues, and refer these on to the relevant department. Delivery of Advice and Guidance Services via eRS. Delivery of mandated NHS Digital Paper Switch Off programme.
