Job summary

We have a new exciting role for a Band 2 Transport Driver/Stores Assistant to work within our pharmacy team who would like to be part of the covid-19 response in Cornwall. The Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust is the designated 'lead provider' for the covid-19 vaccination response in the county and is the designated Trust for the supply of new medicines for the treatment of covid-19. As such, the pharmacy department has a key role in ensuring the population of Cornwall has timely access to covid vaccines and covid treatments, both through its own covid services but also supporting other healthcare partners to deliver these services close to people's homes across the county.

Main duties of the job

Supporting our covid response, you will assist in the delivery of medicines of both a hazardous and non-hazardous nature and a variety of pharmaceutical products, documents and other materials around the Royal Cornwall Hospital site and the wider county so a full, valid manual driving license is essential. This role will also involve supporting the Senior Stores Assistant in all aspects of stock control and distribution.

This is a part-time post of 37.5 hrs/week and may include weekends and evenings.

These medicines must be transported safely, securely and in a timely fashion and where necessary in line with transport regulations.Ensure delivered goods are stored in authorised locations and appropriately rotatedEnsure that the delivery vehicle is cleaned and that maintenance activities are carried out.Meet tight deadlines associated with the delivery of medicines liaising with senior colleagues in prioritising and managing workflows.The successful applicant will also be expected to become trained in stock control of general vaccine supplies and related consumables to ensure they are available as needed.Participate in Trust Performance and Development Reviews.Support weekend and Bank Holiday rotas as required.
