We have a vacancy within our Cancer and Palliative Care Dietitians team here at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust and are looking for an experienced dietitian to join us. The team supports people with all forms of cancer and the role is varied, with a mixture of inpatient and outpatient work in a variety of settings. The team is constantly developing and looking at new opportunities to improve, and we are passionate about developing our staff.

Main duties of the job
- To work as a senior autonomous practitioner providing dietetic support and advice for patients referred to the Cancer and Palliative Care service, their carers and Health Professionals delivering a service to these people.
- To contribute to policy development.
- To develop appropriate resources as required.
- To evaluate the service, via quantitative and qualitative measures including patient experience
- To help to support and/or establish Research and Development and a robust Audit review of the Nutrition and Dietetic service

- To deliver a complex and high quality evidence based nutrition and dietetic service to cancer and palliative care patients referred to the Nutrition and Dietetic service.
- To provide a skilled service to inpatients and outpatients undergoing surgery, radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy/immunotherapy treatments.
- To have a high level of knowledge, skills and experience in order to approach tasks with an open and understanding mind and deal with situations in a timely and empathic manner.
- To be responsible for nutrition and dietetic participation in multi-professional groups and contribute to policy making as directed by the head of service
- To work as a key member of the County wide Cancer and Palliative Care and Nutrition and Dietetic teams
- To engage patients in the development of the dietetic service at the Cove and continually review and amend the service to meet patient and carer needs.
- May be required to deliver a service in different locations
- RCHT is working towards seven day service delivery and the post holder may be required to work on evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
