The Pharmacy Department at Royal Cornwall Hospital is delighted to be able to offer this exciting position in our Digital Medicines team. The award winning RCHT Digital Medicines team is one of the national leaders in digital pharmacy systems and has successfully rolled out our EPMA solution across Cornwall in a unique partnership with our sister Trust.
This role will support the Digital Medicines team in maintaining a wide range of systems including general and specialist electronic prescribing systems, automated drug cabinets, prescription tracking and robotic dispensing systems.
This is a fulltime post of 37.5 hours per week, however flexible working and job-share will be considered.
The Royal Cornwall Hospital pharmacy department is a forward thinking and friendly team. We provide an innovative clinical pharmacy service, combining technology and clinical pharmacy expertise. We are a recognised national leader for innovation in fields such as antimicrobial resistance and the adoption of Scan4Safety standards. All these functions are supported by an excellent wholesale dealer supply service, a well-equipped licensed pharmacy technical services unit and the full range of medicines optimisation support services including medicines information, education and training, formulary support and digital medicines. We have also recently had the funding for a new pharmacy department confirmed as part of an exciting investment which includes a new Women's and Children's hospital.
Main duties of the job
To provide clinical input to the Digital Medicines Team and support ongoing development and deployment of digital systems throughout the Trust, ensuring principals of clinical safety and safe medicines use are adhered to.
To ensure Digital Medicine systems are used appropriately and provide training and support to users where necessary.
To provide support to the Lead Pharmacist for Digital Medicines and deputise where required.
To undertake and supervise clinical audit and benefits realisation work.
