Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Procurement Assistant who will be responsible for undertaking the purchase of a delegated range of equipment and consumables and ensure that purchase orders and related activity are undertaken in a timely and cost effective manner.
We are looking for a Procurement Assistant who wants to make a difference to the health services in Cornwall. Main duties of the job
The role is currently full time at 37.5 hours per week but please speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement. Alongside currently supporting many roles to be delivered part time we also support flexible working which is within a well-established framework.
The procurement department has a friendly and supportive culture and are mainly home based due to the COVID pandemic but the aim is to return to the offices 1-2 days per week.

The Procurement Assistant will be required to collect and analyse data, to ensure that the most efficient practices and routes of supply are utilised. The role will also be required to provide general administrative support to the Catalogue and Buying Teams.
The Candidate must:
Have good interpersonal and communication skills, an eye for detail, and be IT literate with sound knowledge and expertise of Microsoft Office packages.
Confident in using the telephone.
Be well organised and able to work as part of a team to meet tight deadlines.
Practical experience in a Procurement/Contracting environment would be of benefit, however drive, passion and a desire for excellence are essential.
