Job summary

The Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust has embarked on the challenging and exciting task of implementing a new inventory system aiming to have better practices and visibility of stock control, reducing costs and increasing patient safety through the Scan4Safety initiative.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a pro-active, organised, self-motivated and ambitious Receipt and Distribution Assistant to join our Inventory Management Team.

The successful candidate will be a key player in delivering the receipt, distribution and put away of medical consumables in all ward areas of the hospital.

The candidate will have experience in warehouse and stock control, great communication skills and be able to work as part of a team or independently.

This is a permanent, full time 37.5 hours for 1 posts.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The Procurement Receipt and Distribution Assistant will be:

Working under the supervision of the Receipt and Distribution Supervisor and will be responsible in the receiving, distribution and put away of the agreed Inventory and Supply Chain management products using Atticus Inventory Management System (IMS) within the Royal Cornwall NHS Trust.

Procurement and Inventory Management support for the Trusts Global Standards (GS1) and Scan4Safety project.

Procurement and Inventory Management support on business continuity and emergency planning, which will involve ordering of emergency goods and services.

Providing a comprehensive interface for collegues who receive an Inventory Management Service.

Ensuring stock is receipted, delivered and maintained at the appropriate level using Atticus IMS.

The post requires the ability for frequent prolonged periods of concentration with the ability to respond and deal with complex and urgent situations as they arise. The postholder should be able to work on their own initiative, working independently with minimal supervision.
