Job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate Deputy Ward manger to work within the care of the elderly environment on ward 8 at south Tyneside Hospital. The ward is a 28 bedded facility. The post is full time and a permanent position .

Main duties of the job

To be responsible and accountable for the safe, effective and compassionate care for all patients in ward area

To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC code

To supervise ,support and educate junior members of the team, acting as a role model.

Support Ward manager to ensure organisational goals/objectives are met within the ward.

When taking charge of the ward or in the absence of the ward manger is directly responsible for ensuring that clinical ,professional and cleanliness standards are maintained in the ward.

To ensure effective communication internally and externally regarding patient care and resources.

To comply with the trusts vision, values and behavioural compact .
