An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Secretary within our Neurology Department. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person with a flexible approach to provide support to the Neurology clinical team, ensuring a first-class service is delivered to our patients. The post holder will ensure all administrative processes are followed in providing a streamlined service to our patients, consultants, and external agencies.

Main duties of the job
The role primarily involves typing correspondence, managing patient appointments, dealing with phone queries, managing clinical diaries and rotas, validating waiting lists alongside other secretarial and administrative duties which contribute to the efficient running of the Neurology service. Applicants should possess AMSPAR, OCR, RSA Level 3 or equivalent typing/keyboard qualification or have 2 years proven experience in a similar role. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in audio typing is desirable but not essential. Applicants will need excellent organisational skills, a flexible approach to work and possess an empathetic nature to be able to confidently deal with patient queries. This is a 30-hour post. Level 2 numeracy and literacy skills are essential to the post and MUST be shown in your application, if these qualifications arent listed in your application, you will not be shortlisted.
