Bariatric MDT Co-ordinator

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Disciplinary Co-ordinator (MDT) for the Bariatric (Weight loss) surgical pathway within the directorate of General Surgery.

This role involves coordinating and providing administrative support to the bariatric multi-disciplinary team, co-ordinating seminar clinics, collating and recording accurate and timely data, providing up to date information on patients pathways. You will work closely with Consultant Surgeons, Specialist Nurses, Dieticians, Psychologists and secretaries.

This is a part time post and will be based at Sunderland Royal Hospital.

The postholder should possess GCSE (Grade A-C) or equivalent in English and Maths as well as an NVQ level 3 (business admin) or equivalent admin experience. You must be able to demonstrate effective organisational and time management skills.

You will be responsible for administrative duties and accurately maintaining electronic information therefore sound IT skills is an essential part of the role. Knowledge of medical terminology/medical administration is desirable.

Main duties of the job

To accurately and efficiently compile a list of bariatric patients for discussion at the MDT and attend the meeting documenting the MDT outcome live on the patient administration system (meditech).To gather key patient information appropriately in preparation for the meeting, maintain the bariatric database, typing of correspondence and to work with clinicians to ensure national bariatric standards are met for the MDT element.
