Job summary
The Neonatal Unit at Sunderland Royal Hospital is a Level 3
provider within the Northern Neonatal Network. We are a busy unit and require a
Junior Sister to join our hard working team. Our strong team work ethos enables
all staff to develop and learn new skills. Educational opportunities will be
given to meet the neonatal nurse career progression guidelines for Qualified in
Speciality. We have a Practice Development Nurse to support you in your
development.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, hardworking
and motivated Neonatal Nurse to join our team. Neonatal experience plus
qualified in specialism is essential alongside current NLS status. All
candidates for this position must possess current NMC Registration.
Main duties of the job
The post
requires experience, knowledge and skills of working in Neonatal Unit at senior
level. The postholder will lead/co-ordinate shifts, be able to work
independently and within the team and support junior staff and students.
The post holder
will ensure the provision of effective nursing care, and the planning of
family-integrated care in conjunction with the MDT.
The post holder
will be supported to undertake additional leadership training relevant to the
role.

- Degree in nursing studies or healthcare related subject (UK equivalent) or evidence of currently working towards this.
- Mentorship certificate/ Practice Assessor training or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Post Qualifying Specialist Neonatal Course (QIS)/ ENB 405
- Recognised Neonatal Resuscitation and or stabilisation course/Neonatal Life Support (NLS)
