An exciting opportunity has become available to join our team on
the Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU) at the Sunderland site.
EAU is a 40bedded unit located within the Emergency Care
footprint. The unit works closely with the Emergency Department, providing high quality
care to patients presenting with a wide variety of medical conditions in an
acute fast paced short stay environment.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic deputy
department manager who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care
while supporting the team to maintain the high standards of the department.
Part of the band 6 role involves co-ordinating the flow of
patients from the emergency department to the emergency assessment unit and to
their specialty wards alongside ensuring that patients receive timely and safe
effective care
The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with the
following:

Main duties of the job
Hours: 37.5 hours per week and must be flexible to the needs of the service. The successful post holder will complete rotations to cover both day and night duties
Support
daily operations of the department, ensuring smooth running and continuity of
service, in the managers absence.
Provide
leadership and supervision to staff, including allocation of duties, supporting
performance management, and contributing to training and development.
Maintain
service quality and safety, ensuring compliance with NHS policies, clinical
governance, and regulatory standards; contribute to audits and improvement
initiatives.
Promote
positive patient experience by addressing concerns, supporting compassionate
care, and helping deliver service improvements.
Contribute
to performance monitoring, tracking KPIs, and supporting actions to address
performance issues.
