Job summary
South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint Trust Doctors (MTO2), to join our dynamic and forward thinking Emergency Department team. This is fixed term post for 12 months based at South Tyneside Adult Emergency Department Starting from 9th August 2023.
We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic and friendly team player. Applications are invited from doctors with MBBS or equivalent qualification, who are registered with the GMC and have 1 year FY 1 level experience. You will join a team of 5 Consultants, 7 middle grade doctors, 13 Junior Doctors (FY2, GPVTS trainees & Trust SHOs). With the dedicated nursing teams we provide comprehensive acute services to a population of around 155,000.
Main duties of the job
Full Shift rota pattern in the Accident & Emergency Department.
Clinical attendance in the department is according to the rota.
He/she will also perform duties in occasional Emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate Consultant in consultation, where practicable, with his/her colleagues both Senior and Junior.
The Doctor should demonstrate Following qualities:
-Effective communication skills
-Good History and examination skills.
-Ability to formulate a working diagnosis.
-Able to order appropriate investigations.
-Able to manage common medical emergencies.
-Knows when to appropriately seek assistance from a senior colleague.
-Ability to work as part of a team and understand the value of teamwork
-This post is not recognized as a training post but in house training courses will be encouraged.
