Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join
the Health and Safety team. We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior
Health and Safety Adviser. This is a full time position working Monday to
Friday.
This role will form an integral part of the
Health and Safety Team, support the Health and Safety Manager and provide
support and advice to the health and safety advisers in maintaining and
promoting high standards of health and safety for all employees across all
areas of the Trust.
The senior Health and safety adviser will
have already achieved a recognised qualification in Occupational Health and
Safety or equivalent (e.g. NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and
Safety, MSc. or BSc. in Occupational Health & Safety etc.).
The successful candidate will have a proven
track record of working within the field of health and safety ideally within a
health care setting. They will have experience of being actively involved in
the development, delivery and implementation of all health and safety policies
and procedures and they will help to oversee the day to day operational
management of health and safety for the Trust, whilst fully supporting all
legislative compliance.

Main duties of the job
You will
possess a NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or
equivalent (e.g. MSc.in a related health and safety, vocational or professional
field).You will take a leading senior role within the health and Safety Team
under the direction of the Health and Safety Manager. This will involve
assisting the Health and Safety Manager in the management, provision and
delivery of the Health and Safety Service and having responsibility for this
service in their absence. You will be actively involved in both the
development, delivery and implementation of all Trust health and safety
policies and procedures. You will also help to oversee the day to day
operational management of health and safety for the Trust, whilst providing
advice and guidance to the health and safety advisers and trainees within the
team. You will also fully support the health and safety team with their aim of
providing a first class health and safety service to the Trust and maintaining full
legislative compliance with all of the necessary legal requirements.
