Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly, forward-thinking and collaborative team at South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust.Our Dietetic Department of more than 55 staff is managed as one team, but is structured into smaller teams led by Senior Specialist Dietitians. We are actively-involved in the training of Trainee Dietitians and offer A, B and C placements.

You will lead on the development of our childhood weight management service across both Sunderland and South Tyneside. You will work with children, often with complex needs, who are an unhealthy weight and their families and carers, to deliver weight management interventions tailored to a familys needs. The work will involve a mixture of 1:1 clinics and family group sessions.

You will also lead in developingtraining programmes designed specifically for health staff and other partners who work with children and their families.

You must therefore possess a Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics and Registration with the HCPC.

Access to local amenities are within walking distance from Sunderland hospital including post office, Subway, supermarkets, bakery and more. Transport links to Newcastle city centre via Metro from stations close to both hospital sites.

Main duties of the job

The Nutrition and Dietetics department has excellent working links with the wider MDT and we are looking for an Applicant who is confident in communicating with a range of professionals.

The Department is friendly and supportive and encourage CPD, including regular clinical supervision and evidence based practice groups.
