An opportunity has arisen for a
Dietitian to join our committed and enthusiastic team to be a Specialist
Dietitian covering Critical Care and Head & Neck, to cover maternity
leave for 12 months.Dietetics and the MDT within both Critical Care
and Head & Neck in Sunderland & South Tyneside have a great reputation
regionally.
Youwill
be responsible for the nutritional care of patients on critical care, including
service development and teaching as required. Youwill work
alongside other members of the Head & Neck MDT assessing patients within
multi-disciplinary clinics, advising as in-patients, and
outpatients.You will be responsible
for a weekly general outpatient clinic.
You will work
alongside Dietetic colleagues already in Post who cover critical care and
H&N.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of this role will include working with the
Critical Care Senior Specialist Dietitian and the Head and Neck Specialist
Dietitian to cover the caseload. There will also be a general clinic once per
week.
There will be opportunities in the field of research as we
look to adopt and support the AHP regional strategy and you will be supported
to undertake any applicable leadership courses.
Experience of
working in a busy environment would be an advantage as well as experience of
working as a multi-disciplinary team whilst maintaining a patient focus.
Experience in Head and Neck or Critical Care would be desirable.
South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is a
large organisation in the North East of England and has two main sites South
Tyneside District Hospital and Sunderland Royal Hospital. The Dietetic Department of more than 55 staff
is managed as one team, but is structured into smaller teams led by Senior
Specialist Dietitians. We are actively involved in the training of Trainee
Dietitians and offer A, B and C placements.
