people. We have an exciting opportunity for a (18.75 hours per week) Band 7 Highly Specialist
Physiotherapist in our Childrens Physiotherapy Team, and we would like you to
join us if you have the skills! You will join our well-established Childrens
Physiotherapy service which supports children aged 0-19 years and will work in
providing support to the Chronic Fatigue Service (CFS)/Myalgic Encephalitis (ME) team, linking into the
community, across Sunderland, South Tyneside and Gateshead. You will be a key
part of our childrens CFS/ME team and will have opportunity to develop your
clinical and leadership skills. You will be based in our Sunderland site
providing care across both Sunderland, South Tyneside and Gateshead. As a team
we work together to provide the best service we can whilst striving to develop
staff who are our key asset to improve patient outcomes. You will have
excellent support and be part of the Specialist CSF/ME team and the Childrens
Integrated Therapy Service team too. You will be keen to drive services forward
as we change and develop. You will align to our vision and values to improve
patient outcomes and develop our workforce.
Main duties of the job
Based in Sunderland as part of Childrens Physiotherapy team that provides
support into Chronic Fatigue Service (CFS)/Myalgic Encephalitis (ME) team
within STSFT. Will practice within specific speciality area,
of CFS/ME using advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist
physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice to independent
caseload, which incorporates highly-complex presentations of conditions.
Involves active participation in MDT adopting a psychological behavioural
approach. Will take lead role on clinical physiotherapy
practice raising the profile of Service and offering specialist advice to
planning and service development to assist in implementation of service
developments and improvements.
Provide an outreach service to three geographical areas of Sunderland,
Gateshead and South Tyneside. Role based at Durham Road Childrens
Centre, Sunderland, incorporating significant work into community,
including joint outpatient clinics at SRH, school visits, home visits and
outreach clinics in Gateshead and South Tyneside.
Experience of EHCPs (Children and Families Act 2014), report writing and
participation in associated meetings. Experience and working
knowledge of safeguarding. Excellent opportunity to work in specialist multidisciplinary team across regional area, with multiple
agencies. Participate in, and integral to, training and education
of all staff, including students. Must meet travel
requirements of Post.
