Job summary

Two full-time Posts:

Post one: To cover Community / outpatients and special schools (main base Palmer Community Hospital, Jarrow).

Post two: To cover Community / outpatients and the regional CFS service (based between Palmer Community Hospital, Jarrow, and Children's Centre, Sunderland).

(Both roles will be expected to cover both sites where service pressures and demands dictate).

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the paediatric physiotherapy team. We are a multidisciplinary team providing a community paediatric service for children ages 0-19 years.

You will work as a Specialist Physiotherapist at Band 6 across a range of settings, which may include special schools, mainstream schools, nurseries, community settings, as well as our main Hospital sites.

You will work with, and support, experienced Therapists, independently and with staff from other agencies. You will be expected to have an understanding and desire to work with children of all ages and special needs. You will receive appropriate and ongoing training to support you in meeting the requirements of the role.

Main duties of the job

You will work with, and support, experienced therapists, independently and with staff from other agencies. You will be expected to have an understanding and desire to work with children of all ages, special needs and CFS (as required). You will be well-supported in your learning by an established, experienced team. You will be required to demonstrate competent computer skills, have good communication and organisational skills. You will have the opportunity to support our MDT, Orthotic and internal departmental clinics. You will gain experience and a working knowledge of safeguarding concerns.

You will be expected to undertake any other general duties asked of you. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a large team with specialist clinicians.

You will be required to meet the travel requirements of the Post.
