Job summary

WE ARE UNABLE TO OFFER SKILLED WORKER VISA SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE. THE ROLE DOES NOT MEET THE SALARY THRESHOLD OF £25,000 PER YEAR.

The Trust are currently looking to recruit highly motivated, enthusiastic, and compassionate Radiology Assistants/ Support workers to join our fast-paced and friendly Radiology department.

We provide a comprehensive Care Certificate Programme (which consists of both classroom and self-directed study) that will support you in achieving the competencies and skills required to deliver high quality and safe patient care.

It is a condition of employment that all Radiology Assistant/Support Workers attend and complete the Care Certificate and achieve their competencies within 12 weeks of commencing in post. Progression to a band 3 is on satisfactory completion of the Care Certificate and a period of consolidated learning.

Main duties of the job

As a Radiology Support Worker, you will support the radiology department in all areas: - Plain film X-ray, CT scan, MRI, and Ultrasound and Interventional Radiography (site dependent). Supporting the team in the provision of a 24/7 service.

Your role will include preparing patients for various investigations, acting as chaperone, moving and handling, patient care and use of computers.

It is essential that you have good communication and IT skills. You must be able to demonstrate a caring and compassionate attitude in all aspects of care delivery.

You should be able to demonstrate excellent patient care, maintain confidentiality, work on your own initiative and as part of a team, and understand the importance of following standard operating policies and procedures.
