We have an exciting opportunity for an customer / patient-focused individual to join our fantastic Outpatient Appointments Service Department as a Outpatient Scheduling Co-ordinator.

There are various Posts available with the ideal Candidate able to work between Monday Friday.

This role will challenge your skills and will allow you to progress and professionally-develop in a friendly and supportive team.

You will manage scheduling of new patients, manage waiting lists, and supervise Scheduling Assistants to interpret clinical referrals ensuring that patients are scheduled onto the appropriate clinical pathway.

You must have good administration skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills with customer service experience and be computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office.

Main duties of the job

We are responsible for scheduling outpatient services across multiple hospital and community sites in the South Tyneside and Sunderland location. We are based at Sunderland Royal Hospital.

You will manage scheduling of new patients, manage waiting lists, and supervise Scheduling Assistants. You will oversee cancellation and rescheduling of appointment requests, and action any patient rescheduling as a result of clinical sessions being cancelled.

You must have good administration skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills with customer service experience and be computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office. Experience of prioritising patients using a waiting list will be of benefit.

You will have attention to detail and the ability to prioritise incoming work, reporting to the Outpatients Scheduling Manager as necessary.

You will play an essential role within the Team, helping to maintain standards and improve the Service for the benefit of patients and the clinical teams. You will be willing to adapt to change and learn new skills to deliver high-quality administrative services and customer care.
