Main duties of the job
We are launching a Nursing, Midwifery & Allied Health Professional (NMAHP) Retention Strategy, which was informed by our direct care staff. This focuses on four key areas which are, giving
staff a voice, reward and recognition, professional and career development and flexible working. We have embraced team based rostering which supports flexible working and promotes
a healthy work/life balance, and is currently being rolled out across the Trust. We also provide opportunities to be part of shared decision making. There is further opportunity for education/career development supported by the NMAHP Education Team and Continued Professional Development. The Trust has Reward and Recognition initiatives including a yearly celebration.
If
you are a new registrant, you will be supported through our 6 month
multi-professional Preceptorship programme, this is led by the Preceptorship
Team and in clinical practice you will be allocated an experienced clinical practitioner
(preceptor) to support your practical skills development. We will provide
guidance, support and feedback throughout your transitional period, while you
develop the necessary knowledge and skills in becoming a confident and
competent practitioner. The Trust have
recently launched a Legacy Mentor service. The Legacy Mentors are empowered to
support colleagues by sharing their own knowledge, skills and experience
through coaching staff in the early stages of their careers to help them
achieve their full potential.
