Job summary
Undergraduate Medical Education requires committed and
interested staff to enable medical and physician associate students to make the
most of the teaching opportunities available.
We have a post for a Paediatric Nurse Teaching Fellow to
join the team. This role will involve teaching alongside the current designated
specialty teams while taking a lead in some of the more complex planning of the
paediatric curriculum and delivery of key concepts of medical education.
This post offers the opportunity to gain broad teaching
experience and paediatric specific planning and delivery of the curriculum.
There are no existing designated clinical sessions as the post is 100%
teaching.
Main duties of the job
The main
duties of the role include planning, delivery and evaluation of the Medical
Undergraduate Curriculum for Newcastle University medical students.
Candidates must be a NMC
Registered Nurse with experience of autonomous working
Candidates must possess
a Degree in a health care related or educational subject
They should
be able to work as effectively as part of a team with both autonomous as well
as delegated responsibilities. Prior involvement in undergraduate or other
structured training/teaching is useful as the role involves being able to take
a lead in teaching and learning activities, ensuring effective time management
and having great organisational skills.
Good generic medical knowledge is essential, as well as
good communication and interpersonal skills, and previous experience of working
as a Nurse in a NHS setting.
