Job summary
As we continue
to improve our Maternity Services we are excited to recruit an Associate
Director of Midwifery (ADoM). We are looking for someone with significant
Midwifery experience who is focused on safety, quality and the outcomes of care
for women and their babies as well as the well-being of our staff.
As the most
senior midwife in the Trust you will have accountability for the professional
leadership of Midwifery. You will provide visible leadership consistent with
the Trust Vision and Values. You will ensure delivery of high standards of
evidenced based maternity care with women and their babies at the heart of
everything we do.
As our ADoM you
will report directly to the Executive Director for Nursing and Midwifery but
will work into the Division of Family Care which provides Maternity, Neonatal,
Gynaecology, Sexual Health and Paediatric Services.
Main duties of the job
As ADoM you
will lead on the delivering of national maternity requirements/plans and have delegated
accountability and responsibility from the Director of Nursing Midwifery and
Allied Health Professionals (NMAHPS) for ensuring professional leadership and
governance of maternity services.
You will work with the Clinical Director,
Head of Midwifery, Directorate Manager and Divisional Director to ensure the
service meets all external requirements relating to Maternity services in
relation to national plans, MSSP, CQC, CNST and HSIB etc.
You will also lead
the ongoing development of services at our Midwife Led Birthing Centre to
ensure a sustainable service in terms of workforce and access for women. To
help support our midwives you will be responsible for ensuring there is a
robust model for Professional Midwifery Advocacy in place for all midwives
employed by the Trust. You will provide
specialist midwifery advice to the Executive Director of NMAHPs and to the
Board of Directors on a regular basis.
