Job summary
We are looking to
recruit a highly motivated nurse with significant experience of caring for Respiratory
patients. The position is a fixed term 18.75 hour a week role, working into the
community Specialist Respiratory team in Sunderland Steps to Health Service.
This post is suitable
for a registered nurse who is able to work towards the development of expert
knowledge and high level clinical practice within the specialty of respiratory.

Main duties of the job
This job is
suited to a nurse with extensive experience and knowledge of caring for a
respiratory patient.
The community
respiratory specialist nurse team work within the Steps to Health team based between
Grindon Primary Care Centre and Springwell Health Centre.
Steps to Health are a
dynamic team who support people in the community with a range of conditions to
ensure they have a safe, supported rehabilitation period and expert clinical
care.
The specialist
respiratory team provide comprehensive, effective, specialist nursing care and
advice to patients, carers and health care professionals and work closely with
other health care professionals in the development of community respiratory
services.
As a specialist Pulmonary
Rehabilitation Nurse you will be expected to triage, assess, plan, and develop an
exercise and education programme for patients with a respiratory disease. This
will include assessments of patients via telephone and in a clinic environment.
A key part of the role is leading Pulmonary Rehabilitation classes across all
localities in the city of Sunderland. You will work closely within a
multi-disciplinary team.
