Job summary

In an exciting initiative, South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust (STSFT) are seeking to recruit a number of Trainee Cognitive Behaviour Therapists . We will be delivering evidence based psychological treatment to children and young people in one of the CAMH services. The practitioners will be based in one STSFT Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Sunderland, South Tyneside or Gateshead.

The successful applicants will gain experience of providing psychological therapies for children and young people using NICE recommended and evidence-based High intensity treatments. As a trainee, they will also be expected to attend the post graduate CBT training programme at the UNN (University of Northumberland at Newcastle) and gain the training to enable them to deliver these interventions. The training course with the University commences in January 2024, therefore it is essential that the trainees will be available for employment January 2024.

Main duties of the job

As part of their training, successful applicants will deliver psychological interventions in either Sunderland Community CAMHS, Gateshead Emotional wellbeing Team/PCN or South Tynesides Lifecycle service. The practitioners and will play a full part in the effective development of the services . Regular supervision is an important aspect of the work of the service.
