Sunderland Integrated Musculoskeletal Service (SIMS) is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated band 6 physiotherapist to join an existing team. We are very excited to be growing our current service to cover, new, Tier one and existing Tier two service where you will be managing MSK conditions across Sunderland.
If you are a proactive, motivated physiotherapist, with a passion for patient care we would welcome your application. The service offers patients fast tracking to special assessments, diagnostics and treatment as an alternative pathway to hospital referral. We are looking for staff who can demonstrate excellent clinical skills, knowledge, leadership, motivation and organisation. The successful candidate will be supported by our team to develop and progress their musculoskeletal and management skills. You must have excellent communication including experience of sharing specialised information and ideas across multiple disciplines
Evidence of development and collaboration within local interface and regional pathways preferable
Opportunities for secondary care mentorship are supported. You will provide support for local therapy teams.
Full support and CPD training his ongoing.
This post is 37.5 hours with a requirement for an evening and some Saturday morning clinics. Reduced hours will be considered.

Main duties of the job
The SIMS team as part of the community of division within South Tyneside and Sunderland Foundation Trust. The team is based in community health centres across Sunderland. You will be working alongside GPWPSI, ESP and physiotherapist staff but also developing close working relationships with secondary care consultants.
The candidate should have experience across a number of specialties including MSK experience, or keen to develop this.
You should be looking to work as an autonomous practitioner within the specialist team using clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice. The caseload will include management of routine and complex conditions.
We are a forward thinking and innovative team led by her operational lead, Jill Clark and clinical lead, Dr Glen Rae (Sports and Exercise Medicine Consultant). This service is dedicated to Continued Professional Development with an extensive in-house training programme, strong links to secondary care consultants who attend and contribute to our monthly CPD events. You would have support from senior and specialised clinicians including medical and Allied health professionals providing leadership, educational, research and clinical guidance. As well as a clinical supervision, coaching and mentoring we have team building/away days for the development of SIMS staff.
