Job summary

In an exciting new development, we are delighted to be in a position of expanding our workforce and are looking to Appoint a number of children and young peoples mental health workers to be part of a PCN (Primary Care Network) mental health service in Sunderland.

This includes looking for an individual who has the ability to support the leadership of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust workers within this service as Clinical Team Leader/Manager.

In a new and innovative service model, the Team is comprised of high and low intensity Children and Young Peoples Mental Health (CYPMH) practitioners and will work closely with our well-established Sunderland Community Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Service Service (SCCYPMHS).

This multi-disciplinary team will deliver a range of interventions that identify mental health difficulties at the earliest stage, and facilitate the provision of services that promote resilience, and enable positive mental health.

Main duties of the job

You will initially be instrumental in supporting the Clinical Lead to develop and establish the new Service, you will also be accountable for the day-to-day management of the Community team working into Sunderland PCN; deployment and supervision of staff; and ensuring the co-ordination of services provided, optimising the cost-effective use of all resources.

The role will include line-management of the Team which will include Children and Young Peoples Practitioners to lead, motivate and support the Team approach to delivering new and innovative models of care for service users.

Aspects of the role will be to lead a continuously-improving service, by ensuring systems are in place to support clinical governance, quality monitoring and on-going research and audit of practice.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Core Professional qualification and registration (i.e. Nursing, Social Worker, O.T.) or appropriate professional qualification in Therapeutic Training such as CBT, IPT-A, EMDR, Counselling for Depression, etc.
  • Additional post-graduate qualification in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, therapeutic training or other relevant area.

Desirable

  • Teaching certificate.
  • Accreditation with relevant therapeutic body.
  • Formal leadership training, e.g Leading Empowered Organisations; IAPT Transformational Leadership Programme.

Experience

  • Significant experience of working to support the mental health needs of children, young people and families.
