so, we are looking for a Primary Mental Health Specialist to join our Children
and Young Peoples Mental Health Service within the South Tyneside Lifecycle Primary
Care Mental Health Service in supporting the delivery of an innovative and
creative targeted (Tier 2/Getting Help) child and adolescent mental health
service.
The
Lifecycle Primary Care Mental Health Service in South Tyneside is both
innovative and ground-breaking. The service model integrates childrens and
adults psychological therapies incorporating Adult Talking Therapies and CAMHS
Tier 2/Getting Help Services. The Service is well established, achieves
excellent outcomes, and has the opportunity to flourish further. We are looking
for a Primary Mental Health Specialist to support the delivery of this
innovative, creative and effective service. You will be a senior member of the
team, offering clinical expertise and supporting the management team in leading
and developing the service.
The
post presents a fantastic opportunity, for the right individual, to make a
significant contribution to a service that is at the forefront of the national
CAMHS Transformation programme.
Main duties of the job
We expect the post holder to have sound children and young peoples mental health clinical knowledge and skills. You will have the aptitude, motivation and enthusiasm for working within a ground breaking service. You will work autonomously as a practitioner and collaboratively with colleagues across a wide range of professions and organisations.
You must have:
- An appropriate professional qualification and registration with a relevant professional body.
- A post graduate qualification in CAMH, or other relevant area.
- Experience of working within a children and young peoples mental health context.
- Specialist knowledge of CYP mental health, normal development, developmental delay and developmental disorders.
- Experience of working to support the mental health needs of children and families.
- Comprehensive Mental Health Assessment skills.
- Proven ability to design and deliver training to a broad range of professionals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Skills in the delivery of relevant therapeutic intervention including individual, family and group work
- Ability to offer consultation and advice to a broad range of professionals and work co-operatively to deliver joint interventions with a range of providers.

The service will be delivered from community

To work alongside the Clinical Lead and Clinical
Team Manager as part of the leadership team.
To
plan and co-ordinate the delivery of interventions to support the mental health
needs of children and young people aged up to 18 and their families, with other
childrens workers from health, childrens services and the voluntary sector.
To
deliver a specialised clinical service to support the mental health needs of
children and young people aged up to 18 years and their families.
To
plan and deliver training, consultation and support in the highly specialised
area of child and adolescent mental health to childrens service providers.
Ensure
systems and processes are in place to maintain patient safety
To
work autonomously, assessing individual patient/client needs, initiating
investigations, determining a plan of care and initiating appropriate holistic,
research based health information and care
To
act as a resource for all members of the multi-disciplinary team, providing
expert advice concerning aspects of patient/client management.
To
be responsible for ensuring that agreed professional standards are reflected in
practice and to have overall responsibility for monitoring the
