Clinic Outcome Secretary - Part time 25.5 Hours Per week
Sunderland Integrated Musculoskeletal Service (SIMS) are looking to recruit a Clinical Outcome Secretary to join a newly developing Secretarial support team within the Division of Community.
Who are SIMS?
SIMS are a multidisciplinary team of specialist Physiotherapists, GPs and Consultants with expertise in Musculoskeletal conditions affecting mobility, function and well-being. We work in partnership with patients and other health professionals on treatment goals that are centred on patient needs. We help our patients to improve flexibility, strength, balance and mobility in order to obtain the best possible outcome, regain life independence, reduce pain and maximise potential.
We accept referrals direct from GPs for anyone over the age of 16 years. We can provide full assessment, investigations, treatment and rehabilitation. We are able to access to Secondary care services such as Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Pain Management at any point in the pathway to ensure that the patient sees the right practitioner at the right time and place.
As a Clinical Outcome Secretary you will provide comprehensive secretarial support service to Consultants, Medical Staff and Clinicians across the department, processing clinical correspondence and communicating with patients and others to maintain safe patient pathways.
This role will be required to move across various bases in the Sunderland community.
Main duties of the job
As Clinical Outcome Secretary you will be expected to deliver the full Clinic on the Day process for the Division of Community, as part of a team of General Medical Secretaries, including taking responsibility for:
Clinic letter typed and given to the patient
Clinic letter uploaded into Medisec and copy sent to the GP as needed.
Negotiating appointments with patients in clinic where appropriate <6 weeks
Booking appointments where appropriate <6 weeks
Negotiating Radiology investigation date/time and communicating to patient
Negotiating any diagnostic investigation date/time and communicating to patient
Validating the patients pathway in real time
Completing all tasks (Cashing up) clinics in real time including booking out and outcomes
To liaise with the Personal Medical Secretary and/Scheduling Manager regarding the patients pathway and appointments and any instructions/outcomes from the clinic.

The posts will work between the hours of Monday- Friday 08.30am- 8.00pm and Saturday 08.30am-1.00pm. Posts: x3 37.5 hour posts but would be happy to support part time or job share of hours
