Subspeciality Fellow in Gynaecological Oncology

The closing date is 03 February 2026

Job summary

The post holder will be working closely with our three Gynaecological Oncologists and two Clinical Nurse Specialists. It is expected that the post holder will use this opportunity to develop and become a confident and experienced Gynae/Oncologist by the end of 2 or 3 year training. We have established a robust surgical service for women with advanced ovarian cancer and we perform radical surgery with minimal morbidity. We also run a minimal invasive surgical service by using both laparoscopy and robotics for the treatment of endometrial cancer.

The trainee will also have the opportunity to participate in the colposcopy service of the department and achieve BSCCP Colposcopy Accreditation. It is expected that the post-holder will take an active involvement in the Gynaecological MDT, clinics and audit programmes. In terms of research all the consultants are active in doing research and participating in multicentre trials. We expect the post holder to be able to achieve 2 peer-reviewed publications by the end of the training programme.

The successful candidate will also be involved in all areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, including an on call commitment as 1st on call covering obstetrics and gynaecology in a reduced rate of 50% so the on calls do not interfere with the daily clinical activities.
