Qualifications
Essential
- Degree in relevant subject
- Registration on Part 1 NMC Register (RGN or RN Adult)
- Knowledge of health promotion
Desirable
- Specialist Screening Practitioner module at either level 6 or 7
- Specialist knowledge of national and local agenda on improving cancer services, specifically colorectal cancer, endoscopic procedures, valid consent and withdrawal of consent
Experience
Essential
- Significant relevant post-registration education and experience, Relevant clinical experience within an acute field.
- Experience of leading a team
- Experience of providing training and education, Experience of quality assurance, audit and research. Experience of autonomous practice
Desirable
- Experience as a Specialist Screening Practitioner within the BCSP.
- Relevant clinical experience within colorectal/gastroenterology/endoscopy
Technical Skills Competencies
Essential
- Proficient computer skills and use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and experience with use of hospital databases (e.g. EPR, etc.)
- Evidence of continuing professional and academic development
Desirable
- Experience with use of variety of databases
- Ability to carry out health assessment and physical examination. Accurately identify complex physical, social and emotional needs
